Wonderful Weekend!

Gosh, what a lot of catching up we have to do on the blog! Our internet data ran low last month (mine ran out!) so we couldn't get to posting much! :( But the new month has begun and we are back online with a whole lot of posts lined up which we hope you'll enjoy. :)

This past weekend we left home before sunrise and took the long road north for a lovely weekend break-away. Our family enjoys the travelling almost as much as we do the actual holiday. There is always so much to see - lovely scenery, interesting little towns, wildlife, birds, plants, you name it, all to be seen through the car windows. There are also the little stops along the way to freshen up and buy a meal or snacks. :)

There are so many lovely places to visit in S.A. - we are really spoilt actually! Our family loves the Kruger National Park and the areas surrounding it. This weekend we stayed at a private game reserve just outside the Kruger and we had a wonderful time! Between Mom, Jess and I we came back with about 500 photos! We'd really like to share some of the trip here and so we'll be publishing a few posts of some of the things we did and where we went. The first few photos are parts of the journey going up north. They were all taken from the car's windows or through the windscreen so some are not as clear as we'd like but it's just to give an idea of the road. :)
The journey is such fun

I had to post this photo as it is one of those funny pictures that just happen without being planned - Jess was taking the scenery and at the same time she clicked the camera button this motorbike came by. :D

Early morning - crossing a bridge across a lake.

Rural township

An African market on the roadside

(top& bottom) We drove through many passes - many are breathtaking!.

Our next post will be about the place we stayed at for the weekend - wish I was back there right now! :)
