It's Officially Spring!

Officially it's the first day of Spring here today! :) Over the past few weeks the weather has been warming up quite a bit and lately it's actually been hot. It seems as if we are going to "skip" Spring and go straight into Summer - that often happens here! We are eagerly awaiting the first rains - it has been so dry throughout the Winter.

The trees are budding and getting new leaves and blossoms and the birds are all chirpy and starting to build nests. We always keep a look out at this time for the first Swallows to return. :) The tortoises already came out of hibernation weeks ago and there is a chorus of crickets singing at night.

No matter where in the world you happen to be, Spring is always a wonderful time! :)

Hey Ray!

I've missed you! You're sooo quite! You haven't blogged onyour private blog for AGES! Haven't e-mailed, smsed me, or commented on my blog posts-what's up?? lol!

Yay! I looooove spring!! I love all the new little blossoms and new bright green leaves on the trees-BLISS!

A few weeks ago we say a hoopoo...such beautiful birds! I can't wait till the rains come, and see our green lawns, instead of the dry, brown grass right now :(

Hope I hear from you soon! =)

Love ya!

It just turned Fall here. Spring and Fall are my two favorite seasons. Winter is too cold and summer is too hot. It's strange to imagine holidays different than there are here, I can't imagine a springtime "Halloween." Do you celebrate it there, a lot of countries don't.

Thank you all for the Spring wishes! :)
Yes, it does seem strange that one part of the world is in Spring and the other in fall! :)

Cora & Amy - I know how frustrating it can be when the comment form doesn't want to come up - it happens quite often to me & I thought it was our internet connection!
Amy - Yes, I have been quiet - but I can say the same about you! ;) :D
After being ill so long there was so much to catch up and I've been reading, reading, reading and doing arts & crafts. I hope to be more on the net this month - I've missed everyone!

Stephanie Ann - SA doesn't celebrate Halloween. Many people here still have the traditional Christmas lunch though - lots of hot food in the middle of Summer!

love & God bless,
Rachel

Spring, such a simple word, yet filled with so much joy. To see GOd's creation budding forth, and to know that He created it with one word alone.

Lovely Pictures!

I might have told you before, but my grandparents were just on a mission trip in SA. They were there from March-August and had to endure the cold Winter (they told us all about it!) Now that they're back home in Oklahoma, my grandma especially is turned around with the seasons. She just came from Winter and she keeps expecting Spring to be coming now... but it's not! Fall is coming, and then my grandparents will have to endure their 2nd Winter for the year. :~)

Confusing how the seasons work, eh? Well, not too confusing, because our wonderful Creator was only thinking of us. :~)

Have a blissful Spring day!

Tarissa- It can get really cold in some parts of the country in Winter.
Gosh, your Grandpapents are having a whole year of Autumn/Winter! I would have hated to miss Spring! ;)
God bless you and your family.
